The Video Game Thread

This (and last) week I have been mostly playing Last of Us Remastered, finally something worth playing for PS4. This game takes me back to time when I first time played Tomb Raider on PS1, it's that good. Story is pretty solid and I like option to go with guns blazing or silent and sneaky, latter being more sensible as bullets are pretty scarce. AI is not perfect but it's ok, and found only couple of clitches at graphics so far. Looks pretty too.

Last of Us, in my opinion, is the greatest game ever.

I remember playing Tomb Raider on my PS1. I always enjoyed it. Dunno if it held up all that well, though. The reboot for the 360/PS3 however? Couldn't even bring myself to get halfway through. I just found it... bland.

Also! Getting a PS4 in two weeks! Woo!

It's in my top 5 of all time, truly a masterpiece in every way shape and form.

And yay! PS4 buddies :D

I'm gonna lurk around Ebay tonight and try to pick up a copy of Infamous: Second Son. I love the Infamous series and have been waiting to get this one. Hope I snatch a copy for less than $30.

I also picked up Demon's Souls from a PSN sale for $10. I've tried Dark Souls and liked it, but never gave it a proper chance. I'm... 5 hours into Demon's Souls and i've leveled up a bunch and my character still folds like a lawn chair when facing small enemies, but i've managed to defeat three bosses on my first try

Demon's Souls is a fucking masterpiece. The entire Souls series is, really. I have a few nitpicky problems with Dark Souls and it's sequel, but all in all, the three of them are absolute MUST plays.

Did you ever play Beyond : Two Souls for the PS3 last year? I'm replaying it and being torn apart emotionally. That game is HEAVY.

I really like it, it's just a little aggravating at times. Highly looking forward to Bloodborne.

And I did! I wanted to play it for the longest time but was always $40, then I found it in a redbox and rented it for a few days there. Absolutely love that game, really want to play it again. I loved Heavy Rain, and adding Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe? Must have right there.

Andrew Jamieson from Purgatory was speaking to me about Dark Souls/II at Beermageddon. He wants us to play it.

I just did a (failed) playhrough of Castlevania on the NES and he wants me to dive straight into fucking Dark Souls?? I need to de-stress too!

Well, I don't think that TR on PS1 is any good on today's standards, but back then it was full of awe and wonder. I haven't played it for ages though so it could be that memories grow sweeter in time...

Damn, finished LoU, fortunately there is still bonus Left Behind to play.

Left Behind is super super great. Only played it once though, the morning it came out. Should beat it a second time.

I said fuck it and bought Infamous: Second Son digitally with 3 months of PS+ from some dude off ebay. Only $50. I think i'm already at the end of the game. Not sure why, but this series always has a problem with the games being short for open world games. Incredibly worth it though, I love this game.

I did the exact same thing with Left Behind. Played it when it came out, then haven't worked up the urge to play it again. That game makes me too emotional to play all that often. Haha.

Currently playing Tekken 6 for the first time in like four years. There is a lot of stuff that bothers me about this game.

Yeah, it's not my favorite either. I've had this huge urge to buy Tekken 4 recently, but I don't have a working PS2!

Let's see what they come up with Tekken 7 on new platforms. Finished Left Behind so decided to give main game another go around as there is plus mode, haven't spotted any major differences yet except Joel's enhanced capabilities acquired at first round are there from the start. It's bit silly how there is encounter with soldiers at trenches, you kill them but can't have their weapons. I think they should be available as game is already played through once, assault rifle is quite handy tool...

Edit: It seems that earlier weapon upgrades are here too, got the scope for hunting rifle right at the start, nice.

Left Behind destroyed me. I only played it once. Too many emotions at the ending. :(

Diaper-wearing Heihachi is still hilarious.

On the gaming front, I'm actually having a bit of a quiet time right now. I'm so busy with other stuff that I haven't really been playing games.

 To be honest, I never even really like Heihachi to begin with. King and Armor King FTW.
