The Vinyl/Collector's Thread

Thanks Av.

Be sure to get a record brush.

Will something like a LCD cloth work? I have a few more new ones but dont want to open them until i get some plastic sleeves to keep the dust off. I also stopped by the record store today and picked up a few used LP's for dirt cheap...

Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic - $2
Eagles - Eagles - $4
Jethro Tull - Stormwatch - $4

I would invest in some kind of carbon fiber brush.

I think they are around $20-30

More amazon deals. D666 - defiance on red vinyl, lim 200. $13.90

Comes with a poster. Looks great, already have mine.

Shit, totally forgot that i would need a receiver... which i'm guessing will set me back another $150-200.

Check out the RCA/Optimus SA-155. They are tiny little receivers/amplifiers but very powerful. You can pick one up on eBay for like $20-$40. As long as you aren't trying to blast your music at ridiculous volumes, these are great. Awesome little receiver for personal home use.
The only semi-bad thing about them is they have RCA output for the speakers, but you can pick up RCA speaker cables at any RadioShack or even make your own.

some rad shit i picked up recently

The Joel Grind album is "Follow & Believe" 7 inch limited to 135

HOLY SHIT that Revenant album. Probably one of my favorite albums. That must have cost quite a bit

Sometimes records are shipped outside of their sleeves. A lot of people choose to store them that way, too. (I actually don't reeeally know why, but yeah.)

Cool looking splatter vinyl anyway. I only really like Waking into Nightmares from Warbringer though, and the debut has its moments)

My Toxic Holcoaust vinyl got here today too, but it wasnt sealed and the disc was seperate, in its white sleeve ... weird.

yeah I ship records that way to avoid damage to the sleeve. A lot of times during shipping the record will slide around in the sleeve and the weight will cause ringwear/splits.
