Hows the Tech industry there. I see alot of jobs in the IT field but whats the rates of pay like compared to the costs of living?

Whats cost of living like?

How is the housing market?

How is the metal scene? (ya i know nevermore and QR are there .. but im talking local bands and scene)

What are some of the areas to avoid for sure?

Of those of you still in school whats it like? are there a lack of teachers? or are the classrooms not as over crowded as everywhere else in america?

Thanks

Hows the Tech industry there. I see alot of jobs in the IT field but whats the rates of pay like compared to the costs of living? IT industry is full of great opportunity here. average income (general) in King Co $55k . Puget Sound has more millionairres than anywhere in the nation. The high tech industry
is booming with Microsoft, many software companies, **************, medical.

Whats cost of living like? Cost of living is good but on the rise. Gas $3 gal, milk $1.99, rent (2 bdrm) $800-1200 a month in surrounding areas.

How is the housing market? Housing has not been affected by nationwide slump. Plenty on the market and always moving. Many homes being built and sold before they are finished. Prices have gone up $100 in last two years.
average home King Co $400k Snohomish Co. $350k. Now is the time to buy before they go any higher.

How is the metal scene? (ya i know nevermore and QR are there .. but im talking local bands and scene) Many metal heads and bands here. Few bands that kick ass. Good turn out for national acts. Good places to play in Seattle El Corazon, Studio 7, Fenix Underground, Showbox, The Central, etc.

What are some of the areas to avoid for sure? Avoid anywhere south of Seattle except certain areas of Federal Way, Renton, Burien. High crime rate is rampant as South of Seattle is home to many lower income families etc.

Of those of you still in school whats it like? are there a lack of teachers? or are the classrooms not as over crowded as everywhere else in america?

Correction- homes have gone up 100K in last two years lol.

I have never had a better quality of life than here in Washington.
The paople are friendly, many outdoor recreation areas, musicians are very supportive of each other, great music/arts scene, many potential employment/ business opportunities, great medical care establishments, great educational opportunities.

Good luck- let me know if I can be of any help.
