I just finished a book called Flyboys about some american flyers who were shot down by the japanese during WWII and then, even though the japanese weren't out of regular food, they killed the americans and ATE them.

yes. there were these japanese officers who drank whiskey and saki like fish and after executing the prisoners, had the delish thigh meat removed, also the liver which they ate believing it to contain medicinal tonic qualities.

one officer sent a message out to his guy incharge of one of the prisoners...

Please execute Lt. (junior grade) Ellis. Have Dr. Mishima remove the thighs and liver and have them delivered to staff HQ.
