Heard them for the first time a week or so ago and I still haven't made up my mind yet. It's different I will give it that. I have heard that the lead singer of Watain is one of the members

They are okay, though they seem to be pretty much either loved or hated. But where did you hear that Watain thing? The lead singer of Repugnant is the singer in Ghost, and the rest of the guys are from Subvision as much as I know, I've never heard of Erik Danielsson having to do anything with the band.

Ghost are overrated on the expense of much better bands playing the same genre (ie: Jex Thoth).

Bullshit. You can't say that one band is overrated on expense of another while they're clearly not connected in any way.

I dunno, Ritual is a fun song... It was cool seeing them live... I don't think I would miss them if they disappeared.

Also WTF @ the production on the album, almost ruins it.

Really enjoyed the album, don't think they are anything groundbreaking (obviously) or spectacular, but they knew what they wanted to do and they did it very well. Elizabeth is a cool ass song.

Whats wrong with the production?

Maybe I don't listen to enough similar artists, but the desired "overall sound" is all over the place. It's like the band wanted it to sound one way (warm 70's guitar tones), and the mix engineer was still coming off his cocaine binge from the 80's (Horrible, vaguely digital-sounding, trebly nonsense). None of the instruments (especially the vocals) seem to fit nicely (in terms of the "space" they occupy) in the mix... I dunno, it just overall doesn't sound right at all.

Also it's mixed SO QUIETLY. In a bad way, not an anti-loudness-wars way.

It basically just doesn't POP, it doesn't sound exciting... It sounds very middle-of-the road and stays that way for most of the album. As much as I really wanna get excited I find myself going "eh..."
Edit: What I mean by this, I guess, is I always want it to jump into that "FUCK YEAH I'M SO PUMPED UP!" territory, and something about it always falls short of that. Like the chorus for Stand By Him should sound a lot more bombastic, just as the actual parts are written... But the mix engineer prettttyy much ignored that and kept the whole thing at the same pace rather than moving along with the music.

Not to say Ritual and Stand by Him, etc aren't awesome and catchy tracks... It just could have been treated better and become a MUCH stronger album.

Good album. Not awesome, but quite good. Live show at Hellfest was a lot of fun. Good playing and nice presentation.

I've heard Peter Tägtgren is involved too. Maybe did the production.
There must be members from In Solitude as well. And I agree with Repugnant singer, have heard this many times.
