buying mp3's is fucking stupid, i love gazing over at my cd collection and going through it and spending 20 minutes rearranging it into alphabetical order when i get new stuff :loco:, you cant do that in winamp, well not to the same effect.

I'm curious, how many of you dont actually listen to the cd itself? I rip it onto my pc and the cd is kept safe in the case, I reckon about 5-10 of my cds would have sctratches the rest are perfect.

I'm gonna laugh when you can't move more than 2 of the 20 copies you're waiting on right now and end up having to trade them against shit bedroom black metal from absolute nobody labels!

That's unfortunately the name of the game for most labels. It's difficult to run a label without having a distro...unless you print in small runs of a couple hundred or are signing bands like Craft that are sure to move a few thousand units. I generally only trade for things I have heard and that sound decent but sometimes you do get stuck with some ugliness.

i listen to ONLY CDs. none of this computer, Ipiss, mp3player shit that trendies are into these days.

give me packaging and a real CD or give me death

I listen to the cds. I rip stuff to my pc at work but, in the car and at home, I prefer the disc. There's something about the process of listenin to the actual cd that I love...and that is missing when listening to something on a pc or a cdr. I almost always look at the booklet even though I've seen it dozens of times. It's like savoring a good drink...I revel in my addiction.

I wanted to congratulate you on your excellent stock and your seeming dedication to avoiding all those bullshit trade-fodder releases that every other DIY distro has! Keep up the good work, my friend!

i like how everything has a description. it helps.

i might fall in line and buy raventale when those 20 arrive, but im also looking at other stuff in your distro

I have a hard fucking time figuring out wtf to listen to.

I usually just listen to music from my recent hauls and dab in to the archived shite when inspired to do so.

I'm all for cd's but not for scratched fucked cd's that don't play, because this is how alot become and i can sell them as new if they turn out to be shit :)

They usually only go this route if you treat them like coasters. One of my biggest pet peeves are those people who have cd folders attatched to their sun shields (or whatever you call that thing). I put alot of time and anality in to keep my cds in pristine condition, and to see someone who shows so little value towards music makes me nauseous. I get over it quickly though.

I rip most of the stuff that I get and listen to the mp3s while I'm on the computer, but elsewhere, especially at school where I usually spend at least 2 hours walking around/waiting for buses, and at night, definitely the real thing. I take good care of my CDs, so most of them are almost like new.

I have one of those, but it has no CDs in it. I think I'm going to rip some CDRs of classic albums that I keep in there in case I'm ever stuck with nothing else to listen to in the car. I would never subject my actual CDs to that.

I burn my cd's to cd-r's for car use, and rip a lot of my cd's to the cpu for listening so I dont have to constantly rotate cd's in/out of the drive and if I wanna put anything to my mp3 gayer for the gym.

[/useless info]

I used to have a binder of all my CDs, then a few of them got scared like my God Macabre cd, so now I just all jew cases and bring one or two of them into my car. I do most of my listening on my computer since I'm in a dorm room.

I rip everything onto ye ole' comp.
throw away the jewel cases and put them in cd wallets. I dont move them or take em with me so nothing gets scratched. If I wanna listen in the car I just grab and cd and go.
