To save Ceydn the trouble: St Anger

I couldn't find anyone who'd sell it to me today. Everyone had it, but they all said come back tomorrow. But I did get to have a look at one. The price tag said $28.95, and that was at Virgin.

I'll keep looking until I find it for at least under $25. That's probably what it'll be marked as at Kmart and Target.

(I feel so dirty buying metal cd's from those places)

Tomorrow is the 8th. They said the release was the 10th. Then moved it to the 5th. Where the hell do they get the 8th from?

I can't wait to read the review the guy in Sunday paper will give it.

How much was it Mark?
It's supposed to be US$10 - which is mighty cheap for an album and DVD. That should be under AUS$20.
It was £12.99 - cheap for a new CD here! Usually they're something like £14.99 or more.

So that's probably around the $30AUD mark.

It gets better though mate......, any hoo I think I said somewhere else that I paid $27.99 which is shit chap considering I got it from one of the larger chains and it has a awesome DVD with it.....sure its themm playing the songs from St. Anger...but it is very fucking good

okay, you're probably wondering why I haven't posted yet, when I got it at 9am Friday morning.

Well, I got drunker than ever before Friday night and felt sick and we had a gig last night and in between all that I've been listening to the album non-stop.

What you were all expecting:
Yes, it made me shit my pants.

It was really quite surprising, its a lot more LOADy than I was thinking.

My formula:

Load riffs + Justice Speed and Structuring + new sort of sound = St. Anger

I can't be bothered typing a detailed review right now but I love the album heaps. Invisible Kid is the only one that is taking a while to get into... it just feels too long.

At the moment its probably my 5th fav Metallica album:

1. Puppets
2. Ride
3. Load
4. Justice
5. St. Anger
6. Reload
7. Kill
8. Black

So yeah, I'll get back to you :D

(P.S cost me $35, but that's expected from my CD shop, but I don't mind cos the guy who manages the place is a legend, and I got it on Friday when he's meant to start selling on Sunday)

/me is listening to Sweet Amber

this is probably my favourite track. Its really really awesome.

The thing about this album is there really are no stand-outs, (I know that sort of contradicts my last statement) its really the album is a whole that's good...

But lets just say that they must've done something to make it sound crappy when you rip it to mp3, cos I ripped it and it sounds really bad when the CD has some of the best production through my stereo that I've ever heard. (personal opinion obviously)

I think that the production is horrible. I had to tweak my EQ no end to make it sound halfway decent. For an albums that's all bottom end, there's no bottom end if I have my "regular" settings.

The Black album is, IMO, the worst album Metallica have ever done! :puke:

Seems we're disagreeing a lot lately, Spawny :D
