Very... homogenous.

And where's the pictures! PICTURES DAMMIT... this is a PICTURE THREAD YOU LAZY LAZY LAZY...:Smokedev:

Without going into needless definitions, basically I meant that your list consisted of similar albums, especially in the sense that they are all progressive rock. In a similar manner, TTMB's list was all classic rock. I tried to diversify my list, not using the same band that often.

godspeed you! Black Emperor- Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven

Do Make Say Think -Goodbye Enemy Airship The Landlord Is Dead

Mogwai-Young Team

Sigur Ros -( )

Explosions in the Sky -Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live
Forever

Mum -Yesterday Was Dramatic - Today Is OK

Bedhead-WhatFunLifeWas

woah man, Jar of Flies > Dirt.
I think that was THE pinnacle of AiC...though Dirt is awesome, yes...
oh and grunge as far as nirvana is derivative of (read: is) punk, though yes AiC and Soundgarden were more from stoner rock :)

I couldn't make such a list, as I've got pretty much "like it or don't" style to my taste, and so couldn't narrow, and would be too influenced by the "standards" (either choosing them cause they often ARE indeed good...or trying to go against them, maybe justified maybe not...)

Hmm.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy
The Beatles - Abbey Road

fuck it, hahah I can't do this stuff :\

No, no, no. Dirt is the best.

haha this is like the dumbest possible thing to argue about in that it is the same band and just different styles :loco:

...not that that will stop me!

Jar of Flies was so perfectly subdued and with Nutshell...oh and Rotten Apple...and...um...well Don't Follow owns me... and well I Stay Away...OMFG WHALE AND WASP.
Yes.
for Whale and Wasp alone (and Don't Follow) JoF> Dirt...I win :D

but no, I dunno, I've got some strong memory associations for JoF, and that's probably my basis :)

oh and In/Casino/Out would probably be on my list um somewhere.
I've no idea where (nor where the 3-4 previously mentioned either).

Though Zep and Floyd and the Beatles were a good portion of MY high school time, despite being only nineteen--and yes I know it's not unusual, I'm not claiming to be Mr. Unique here :)

Well, my late high school time was mostly spent listening to these bands:

Enigma
KMFDM
Pig
Sister Machine Gun
Skinny Puppy
Leæther Strip
:Wumpscut:
Front Line Assembly
and
Numb

But those bands don't fit on my list...

And Dirt has Rooster... that's AiC's best song.

Ummm... and every song on that album kicks ass. Jar of Flies is good, but I always thought of it as AiC's worst album. Facelift, Dirt, and the s/t were the ones I listened to all the time. Jar of Flies and Sap were the ones that I usually passed up for the others.

BTW Faith No More are NOT rock!! I was going to say The Real Thing myself but Big Sick Ugly's metallic riffing takes them way above rock music!

Agreed to an extent, but they were always a band that refused to be confined to any one genre and attempted to reach into nearly all of them...if I were to take up the futile task of classifying them, I'd say they were 100% progressive.

God this was way way harder than I thought. Limiting myself to one album per artist, only full-lengths, and in no particular order (except the first two, which are tied for not only favorite rock albums but favorite albums period):

Aha! you like the harder edge more...I like a mix. Facelift is my least favorite LP (F, D, Tripod...and yes I'm that lazy :D) and JoF>>>>>>>>>Sap definitely...
but yeah, since one of my favorite songs off Tripod is Shame in You, I think my taste for the lighter and acoustic type side shows.

Dirt is excellent..but some tracks post-Rooster are kinda ehhh-- and Iron Gland is just unnecessary :ill:
Dirt, Sickman and to some extent Hate to Feel are kinda ehhhhhh to me.
I don't dislike them, but think the other stuff on there is better.

my high school was composed of NIN, Tool, TMBG, Floyd, Zeppelin, At the Drive-In, Aphex Twin, and Mogwai mostly.

Ain't that odd? haha
