why don´t you just say "focus" or "attention" you fucking fag!
Humanity [collectively] calls it focus. The "us" in foc[us] connotes "we" to me; a collective; a group. I don't accept that. And do not find it inspiring. I changed the spelling, ergo, its meaning to suit myself, using it as a self-motivational cue that Life is Lone: I am in charge and control of myself -- or as I roar in my mind during those bouts of intense concentration, extreme undivided attention.

The notion that all rap/hiphop is by definition unintelligent and stupid is about as stupid as saying that all metal sounds like Korn. The stuff you would find if you turned on MTV is largely horrifying yes, but there's good stuff if you're openminded and willing to look for it. Ofcourse most people here are content to just outright dismiss an entire genre of music they don't necessarily know anything about based purely on the most popular artists they do happen to know. But when someone says metal is childish unintelligent noise because they assume all metal sounds like Slipknot (or any other MTV metal band) then everyone gets their panties in a bunch.

I already saw someone mention GZA (a lot of the older Wu-Tang stuff is nice), but something a little closer to metal would be Dälek for instance. They're signed to Ipecac records, the same label as Isis. They have a very strange sound of hiphop mixed with guitar-feedback-drenched drone (they're heavily influenced My Bloody Valentine) and their lyrics are actually well-written.

Let them listen to whatever they want, if they ask you for advice or your opinion on music give it to them, otherwise I don't see why anyone would go out of their way to push their tastes on someone else. Just let it be.

The metal community is already overpopulated. As for the discusion here on the quality (or lack of) in rap, it's similar to metal, as one said in that the mainstream sides of both blow. Listen to some real underground rap and you'll find its alot more artfull, theres plenty of meaning to the lyrics, as opposed to this materialistic MTV bullshit.

I'm assuming, however, that if he likes KSE that his taste in rap is similarly of the obnoxiously bad mainstream category.
