TV Shows

It has become my favorite show. Shoving Breaking Bad to the ground like Biff does to Lorraine.
Now you got me extra pumped for season 5!
the physics are fucking cool
but most importantly, the characters are all so well done.

is anyone here still watching The Walking Dead? I'm only asking to have laugh
I gave up halfway through season 7. Unlike seemingly everybody else I really didn't like the Negan character, which is weird because I really like that actor in other things he's done. I thought the first 5 seasons were amazing...............better than the comics. I need to get back into those one day though, only read the first 48 issues.

Oh man...
I don't read comics so I judge the story only by the show and for a while have been watching it just because I was curious how it was gonna end (after all this time i spent on it). But then when producers said that they're gonna extend it for another 10 years or so - it was done for me. Everyone i know also dropped it, I wonder if they're even gonna make it as far as they're saying.

I think Im the only one that couldnt get into Expanse. I watched two seasons I think.

Im watching Outlander here and there. I enjoy the historical aspect

But mostly watching Married with Children reruns

I watched 6 seasons of True Blood and it got so awful by then I gave up. After season 7 was over, I read the episode summaries on Wikipedia. Been planning to do that whenever they decide to wrap up The Walking Dead but 10 more years?! Good goat, why?

The X-Files is my favoUrite thing ever and I have watched and rewatched (and rewatched again, and again) every episode and both movies multiple times (all of which I own on Blu Ray), read the comics, played the gorram collectible card game in the '90s, etc. EVEN THAT SHOW should have probably ditched a season or two.

Firefly was one season of perfection and I know everyone wanted more but why? It was so perfect and nobody will ever say "yeah great show but man season 4 reaaaaally starts to drag."

Thanks NAD. I need a show to watch and you just reminded me about Firefly.

And I tried to do the whole X files run. I forget where I ended but it was so daunting.

I watched Ozark s1 but never followed it up

Anyone watched The Queen's Gambit? I love chess and it's supposedly ace but the actress' eyes give me the creeps
I finally understood why I'm somewhat 'weirded out' by the show.
I noticed that there's no story line of other characters in the show outside Beth's own line.
Which pretty much means that we can only observe other people when they're in Beth's scenes.
Which pretty much makes her have 99% of screen time.
Which even though Anya Taylor-Joy is gorgeous and talented can also be slightly fatiguing.

The show is nice to watch but some things are way too Netflix, in a bad way.
I really enjoyed the actress in "The Witch" though.

Thank you for the review, yes the hypertrophic focalization on the main actress is what I gathered from the trailers. I can live with that, given that it's a finished mini series. I'll probably get to it, just have to make sure that the login to the former colleague's Netflix account I've been hijacking for years still works...

The Mandalorian poops all over the sequels (which I thought were Okay for a viewing or two). Rogue One was great though.

I never watch TV shows when they are new. Ever. And I am glued to the TV every Friday night for new Mandalorian episodes.

The Mandalorian is soooo much more interesting than the sequels. The lore behind everything keeps me watching. And at around 30-45 an episode, it never gets boring

I enjoyed Force Awakens even though it was a re-tread. Hell I didnt even mind the next one except where Leia flies in space wtf and is just cold from it. The last one was garbage.

However I will take the 3 sequels over the 3 prequels.

Rogue One is the 4th best SW movie imo

I started this as it looks good? But overdubs are difficult to watch

Yeah, it's why I gave up on The Heist, or whatever it was called.

I got used to it and didn't notice it aside from times when it was really bad like when the father/reik of the tribe had emotional outburts that the overdub fell horrendously flat. I didn't even like his overdubs voice, tbh.

It's actually a good story though as ide from a few WTF moments that I won't talk about. It seems to try a similar formula as The Last Kingdom though which absolutely demolishes Barbarians.

I was a massive Star Wars nerd as a teenager and was deeply into the expanded universe. Before Disney took over, it was a very coherent universe with incredibly nuanced interconnections. The prequels had excellent storylines that fit into this overarching vision and then opened up an incredible space for supporting stories such as the clone wars comic series and novels. The prequels may have had issues as films, but they added tremendous depth as stories. Disney and the sequels annihilated the entire Star Wars universe and undid the storyline of the entire six-film saga and all the supporting stories of the EU in order to cash-in on the name. Screw them and everything they touch.
