I don't know if I've ever made the point here, but I have several other places:

Feminism is about fighting the patriarchy - and while this primarily is done by bringing the status of women up in society it benefits all.

Destroy the patriarchy and you destroy expectations for how men must be. Perhaps this doesn't specifically benefit someone who is a picturesque image of what a western man must be, but for those who aren't in lockstep with what being a "man" is it certainly would.

It would eliminate the expectation that a given gender must act a certain way to be "truly" that gender. Ideally, it leads to the elimination of traits being associated with a specific gender.

Maybe instead of fighting the patriarchy, individual women should work harder in their own lives to fight for equality and respect from those who wouldn't respect them. Or just, you know, get rid of the shitty people in their lives.

I'm not saying my experiences are a baseline for how women are treated, but dude, I've experienced sexism. I tell those people to fuck themselves then show them up. I don't act like a cunty feminist about it and make it into a bigger deal than it needs to be.

People being dicks is people being dicks, no matter what it's about or who its towards, and I just think its retarded to try to change one particular group of dicks when there's a billion others to take their place. It seems more prudent to learn how to deal with assholes in one's own life, instead of constantly skirting the responsibility of courage and confrontation to instead rant about the "whole blasted patriarchy!"

You do realize that this is nonsense, right? Overturning the patriarchy is one thing and something that I support, but this is a battle in the clouds.

Radical feminism, such as that expounded by Mary Daly, has bleed into the mainstream feminist argument without its participants having realized it. This method functions only to have feminism lampooned by the patriarchy and works against the movement itself.

Honestly, I think men and women are never gonna be treated equally and they shouldn't be in some aspects. Yes, I agree with fighting patriarchy, equality in respect, pay, education, but men and women aren't the same.
From what I read from feminists they want me to look at women and see just a human being. We are naturally different. I see different body structure, emotional differencies etc. I see boobs. If some feminist doesn't like men looking at her boobs, then tell them or have them reduced and wear clothes that are covering them.

I gave a shitty example. I have a better one - if i would start to talk to my female friends the same way I talk to my male friends, I'm pretty sure one month forward I wouldn't have any female friends. We use different language, talk about different topics, understand things differently etc.

If you say I should talk to them in different way, that means treating them differently. And if I talk to someone differently, I also behave and treat them differently.

The problem with these arguments is that you think there is something inherently wrong with masculinity and femininity (there isn't). Whether or not women perform certain roles is up to the individuals themselves so it's not as if women are obligated to be housewives by law. Women and men aren't obligated by law to fulfill any role anymore. This battle was won a long time ago.

It just sounds like you don't like the fact that a man and woman would CHOOSE to be more traditional in their roles. What do you suggest we do? Use excessive force to change that? Women and men aren't going to all act, look, and go about their lives according to anti-gender roles and it's creepy that people even want this in the first place. Why don't we just make everyone white skinned while we're at it, or make everyone six feet tall? You're confusing equality with conformity when they're two completely different things.

As usual, you're not offering any kind of a direct means of action and are being idealistically vague as to what you want. The only things I can gather from your arguments are euphemistic rhetoric supporting the systematic re-aligning of society to conform to anti-gender roles. Totalitarianism, in other words.

People are free to operate within traditional roles if they desire, and the fact is that is likely how it will end up for the majority of people, but no one should be held to those standards.

It stifles the individual and molds them to act a certain way based solely on the fact that they were born a specific way. It leaves it so that trans individuals are left dealing with dysphoria, men often have no safe release of their emotions and react violently, and it outright just erases the existence of intersex people.

The gender binary is nothing but harmful and outdated.

I do not wish to tell people how to live their lives, I wish for people to be free to do as they please without societal pressures saying "You must act this way."

Ok, well that's a little more reasonable now that you put it into perspective. I'm still confused as to what your plan is for society to stop promoting expected gender roles. Who are the culprits pressuring you to have these roles? Is this something that you, personally, find difficult to defy? I feel like it's mostly something that a lot of people just do subconsciously within their own communities, and harmless as long as those who choose not to conform are treated respectfully.

These things get better with time, as illustrated over the past century. I'm not sure how much influence something like feminism had over positive social change throughout that time, but I know that the bad apples of modern feminism do a great job of alienating people from reconsidering their traditions.

If we remove the attributes of "masculinity" and "femininity", they become something else, or the prior arrangement of traits become something else. In either case, one of the key traits of traditional masculinity and femininity is being binary in nature. Additionally, those other traits you ascribe to each gender are not absolutely dichotomous. The slider is just generally more towards one way or the other. Otherwise you cannot be complementary. Hence binary.

To say that this is harmful, and must change, and then turn around and say "but you should be able to [identify in those ways]" is contradictory. The fact of the matter is you really don't have contradictory beliefs, it's just trying to CYA on problematic beliefs that puts you in an uncomfortable bind.

There is an important difference between tolerating something and supporting it. I'll tolerate the transqueerMuslimplantkins as in I won't seek laws to single them out for punishment. But I am under no ethical duty to offer them support beyond what they may require as human beings. Anything above and beyond that must be at the individual discretion, and if I continue to cut my grass anyway and a congregation of traditional Muslims won't accept the transqueer into a mosque, this isn't an injustice or harmful.
