Welcome! Just wondering...which CD was your first?
It seems like great things are happening with SymX, they're on a creative high right now with a new album + 2 solo albums in the works.

awesome. this place is much more receptive and mature than some other forums.
the cd i bought was the odyssey because it was the only one i could find at media play. its awesome and i cant stop listening to it. high quality album.

what took you so long?!!

hehe

the analog kid has some SICK playing on it. i was a big SX fan already when i heard it. i thought i was used to MR and MP's playing already and had listened to what they could do... but when i heard that tune i was totally shocked!! it definitely showed me that as much as i listen to their music they will still do new things to amaze me.

MR's playing on that album reminds me of a lot of the lead guitar work on the album Twilight in Olympus, which is among his best IMO. each album has great guitar on it...but the overall lead guitar sound is great. the style is good, the processing, and i think i must really like whatever equipment he used for that album.

i'd love to find out more about what different equipment he was using on each album

^ i dunno. there was always just something else i wanted more i guess. now im hooked.
and yeah, the analog kid was sick.

i agree! how great for them. and for the fans too! what a treat these up coming months will be. seems like the fan base just keeps growing and growing!
welcome dorian :)

How cool, that's my first exposure to the band as well. I remember hearing that solo break and diving into the liner notes to see who the heck that guitarist and keyboardist was. The rest as they say....is history :)

welcome to the board  hope you like it here, although things have been slow lately.. hopefully they'll pick back up again after the next set of albums have been released when we all have new topics to burn out on.

And after that we'll recycle the same questions that always seem to crop up. Perhaps a poll might be in order as well. ;)

Glenn, don't you think we're already long overdue for a Romeo VS. Petrucci poll?

That one always seems to keep things rolling for awhile.

Welcome to the new fan. Get Divine, Twilight, and V NOW! Then Damnation and S/T TOMORROW! :)

I absolutely love Romeo and Pinella on the Rush tribute, BTW. If only they could have done a song with Romeo, Pinella, Sheehan, Portnoy, and LaBrie. And where the hell was Russel on that album? He would have rocked.

Why not compare the other member? Myung vs Lepond? LaBrie vs Allen? Rullo vs Portnoy? Pinnella vs Ruddess? You dig? :p
