I absolutely love Romeo and Pinella on the Rush tribute, BTW. If only they could have done a song with Romeo, Pinella, Sheehan, Portnoy, and LaBrie. And where the hell was Russel on that album? He would have rocked.

as excellent of an album The Odyssey is, Divine Wings and V are better IMO, so prepare to get blown away again

Rudess is light years ahead of pinella. i saw rudess live and he has so many cards up his sleeve!! he used numerous synth patches that sounded great... pinella likes to use that one really cheesy lead sound, some piano, and whatever orchestration is required. rudess just has a ton of skill! he recorded his new solo album, and the two liquid tension experiments each within two weeks.
portnoy is better than rullo even tho rullo is great.
john myung has a little bit over lepond
and russel allen sings tons better than labrie, live and in the studio. i don't care if labrie can hit a higher register...he sounds bad on so many songs!! (ie 6:00)

dream theaters music is more open allowing portnoy and rudess and myung alot more freedom. But I'm sure that most of the SymX players could seem alot better in that environment...needless to say, the current situation is fine with me!!! :Spin:
