Underrated metal albums.........

Carcass-Swan Song
Red Sparowes-At the Soundless Dawn

since when were red sparrows:
a) metal
b) any good?

fair play.

rinoa - s/t ep
shaped by fate - the unbeliever
the pax cecilia - blessed are the bonds (revolutionary as fuck and no-one's heard it, it's available for free on the bands website. some crazy amalgamation of orchestral, post-hardcore, post-rock and metal.)

A. What exactly is metal? What is the definition of a metal band? Is it loud distorted guitars? Thundering bass and drums? An attitude? Well if those characteristics are what makes a metal band then they fit it. Just because a band doesnt play fast or doesnt have a frontman that doesnt growl doesn't mean they aren't metal

B. Yes they are good IMO, to me they are an atmospheric jam metal band.

Isis - Celestial
one of my favourite metal albums ever and people just dont seem give a fuck about it :(

Celestial, fuck yeah.
I actually like Oceanic the most out of all the shit Isis have done thus so far, which again is quite under appreciated because everyone goes ga ga over Panopticon which I felt wasn't as strong as Oceanic.

I picked up Panopticon first, and wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be - Oceanic fixed that when I found it in a used CD shop a couple of years later.

Just updated my own list a few posts above by the way.

+1 Swansong is a great album. My favs are Polarized and Child's Play

As far as underrated, Fates Warning-Awaken the guardian
