Video Games Thread

Played and finished Metal gear Solid 4,twice now.
Best game ever?to me...A BIG FUCKING YES!(very close to solid 1 and final fantasy 6 and 7)
First time through,i sneaked my way through the end, second time i went in Gears style.
Did i cry like a little girl in the end?yes i did, like a little bitch.

Nah not me,i never liked MK,Soul Calibur 4 yes, although i don't really care about the star wars characters.

I can't wait for Blazblue, the new KOF and Street Fighter 4.

I have MGS4 also, beat it within a few days. I didn't go for stealth or anything, I just blew everyone's fucking brains out - hell the game practically forces you to in many instances. Awesome storyline with some heart crushing moments. Definately game of the year!

Speaking of Mortal Kombat... anyone besides me extremely juiced about Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe?!!!

Oh yeah... and of course Soul Calibur 4.... this is gonna be sick

Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe in my opinion is a huge mistake. Superman? Wonderwoman? WTF? :). I like Batman and Lobo ...but Superman?. In Mortal Kombat? Noooo:mad:
And probably this MK will be without fatalities!!! This is tragedy !

Well, I hope fighting system will be cool.

Just got Viking: Battle For Asgard and I'm fucking loving it! It's a typical hack'n'slash game, but how can a game where you play as a viking hacking the fucking shit out of things possibly be bad?:heh: The graphics REALLY remind me of Fable, so it also got me even more hyped up for the release of Fable 2.:heh:

I started getting back into PC gaming now that I have my own computer and some recent free time. In the span of two weeks, I went through Assassin's Creed and Crysis...AC is one of the coolest games, so visually beautiful...the detail in the all the architecture of the cities is amazing...majestic music too, especially the Jerusalem theme. Crysis was extremely cool as well...love the nano suit idea, and the graphics engine is great...can't wait for Crysis Warhead this fall where we get to play as Psycho, he was hilarious. Now I'm into Mass Effect...never really played an RPG before, but this is frakkin fantastic. I can't believe all the detail and depth that goes into the storyline...from the alien races, technology, politics, etc. I heard they're planning a trilogy, which is sweet, because I'm sure when I'm done I'll still want to explore the ME universe :)

Fable 2 is coming out? That's pretty sweet. Fable's a great game. I just hope it'll work on my computer, which is pretty damn old :(

I loved Mass effect, played through twice, both Renegade and Paragon.I loved the conversation tree idea and the story was very simple to understand.
The soundtrack was rather refreshing too, gave me a good old 80's sci-fi vibe.
Viking is great,it's just too bad they didn't add any of that epic soundtrack during the quest since they only use it during the huge battles.Best reason to listen to some metal while playing.

I'm not a as big a gamer as I used to be- and I mainly play older games (yes... I still play my sega genesis sometimes...). Even though I have a PS3 I still play my PSone and PS2 games a lot. If I had to pick a favorite game series it'd be the Legacy of Kain games.

They are all very different and the original one (called Blood Omen) was revolutionary for it was one of the first games to have voice acting from beginning to end. The voice acting is superb in all the games, the story is very confusing and you have to get all of the games to make sense of it all (stuff that happens in the first game you witness happen in the fourth game and so on) and if you like deep philosophical conversations about life, death, morality, time travel and ones destiny then this is a game for you. The games aren't too hard, they are plenty long- probably the most well known game in the series is Soul Reaver- which is probably the best one in the series.

Regardless if you guys like vampires, philosophy and lots of gore I'd highly recommend all five of them... good luck finding them though- most of them have been discontinued.

Other than that, Unreal Tournament 3 was pretty badass (but didn't live up to the original I'd have to say) and I think I may be one of the few that actually liked the game The Darkness....

Nah I liked the Darkness too, plus I'm a bit of a Mike Patton fan myself, the voicework he does as the darkness is unreal. Him and Devin Townsend should get together for a music project; one for the ages! :D

If Devin Townsend and Mike Patton did do something together it'd be godly! Mike Patton can do anything with his voice- he did an excellent job as the Darkness, he should do more voice acting.

He is actually, he's the voice actor for main character - Nathan Spencer, in the upcoming game Bionic Commando. :kickass:

Yeah Darkness rocked,i heard they're working on the sequel as well as the new Chronicles of Riddick.
These Swedes know what they're doing.

I'm doing mostly Paragon for my first time through, but certain situations call for that Renegade attitude :saint:

I'm thinking about picking up Oblivion next...people have good things to say about it, and I saw it for cheap when I picked up Mass Effect. Also thinking about The Witcher...anybody played it?

Oblivion is a great game, and The Witcher is probably one of the best games ever made, everything about it is just totally amazing. RPGs rule! :)

Yeah your pc needs a lot of juice to at least make it playable,i don't own it though but have heard good things.(Witcher)

Oblivion is a good game,it's just not my cup of tea,i prefer JRPGs or interesting ones like Mass Effect.

Anyone playing Metal gear Online?
