Video Games Thread

i'll get wasted by you on COD4. That game is mad addicting but I always get killed by all those level 50 three times over dudes with all the perks.

I'm in the same boat as you! I love playing COD4, but holy fuck is it ever annoying when you get killed, spawn, and then take 2 steps and get killed again . I actually don't have a gold subscription to xbox live, I just get alot of those free trial things in alot of the games that I buy. I would buy a gold subscription, but # 1 my internet connection is unbelieveably slow alot of the time, and # 2 it just gets really annoying after a while listening to a bunch of kids who sound like they're about 10 telling you to eat their shit :Smug:.

edit: I just found a metal cover version of the theme to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion: http://epinikion.com/jeremy-soule-oblivion-theme-music.html :headbang:

I recently started playing Chrono Cross for PS1 over again.

Was listening to the soundtrack a week ago or so and remembered how much it owned in terms of...well; everything :)

Chrono Cross is one of the most perfect RPGs ever released. Yatsunori Mitsuda is right along side Nobuo Uematsu in terms of incredible game composers. The CC soudntrack is the best video game soundtrack ever.

Hmm, questionable.

The CC OST is absolutely awesome yes, but some tracks are bit out of place so to speak, i.e. they don't match the caliber of some of the other tunes on the OST.

I don't know what the best videogame soundtrack is for me (Have so many it's just not funny). But yes, CC is definitely up there at the top.

I have too much of a hard time choosing favourites for music, cause I have thousands of CD's, literally. It's vaguely frustrating

I finally bought Valkyrie Profile Lenneth; great reccomendation, Thorns On My Grave, thanks. I'm on the third chapter (and the long cutscenes are awesome, btw) but I think I might complete Crisis Core before playing any more of it. Anyone know how to reveal some of Valkyrie/Platina's past (without giving to much away) or does that happen later on in the game?

Oh, and I fucking NEED my 360 fixed for the release of this game:

dragonage

I've been waiting for Bioware to do a fantasy rpg since the first KotOR.

Hah hah yeah... but I have yet in all my rpgaming years, heard a battle theme that didn't grate on my nerves after the first hundred battles... thats why Suikoden rules, they have like three or four different battle themes as the games progress.

Another note:

SOUL CALIBER IV TOMORROW!

I have it preordered for the killer metal box, cards, keychains and bitchin looking t-shirt (looks like a band shirt but w/ Siegfried, Vader, Yoda and Nightmare)

OK, I finished Oblivion...awesome game. I still have to do Knights Of The Nine and Shimmering Isles, but I'm taking a break. Now I'm back into Mass Effect, going through this time as a Vanguard (as opposed to Soldier) and will take the Renegade angle, which has produced some really fun results so far. The downloadable mission Bring Down The Sky is also a nice touch...damn I love this game! And someone seriously needs to make a movie based on the Mass Effect universe...the mythology here is second only to Star Wars :)

Saints Row 2! One of the few games that's so fun and over the top it's easy to forgive the fact that it crashes! :D

Any suggestions for a really cool fantasy/adventure game (for my Christmas-wish-list)??
Must be for Playstation 3

Get a NA X-Box 360... this system is god for RPGs these days.

Folklore is killer. Valkyria Chronicles looks to be the next big awesome RPG, and its reviews so far are stellar.

I have been a Sony fanboy for over a decade... but man this generation (PS3) is just pure garbage.
