Who out there likes Vintersorgs latest album Solens rotter? I fucking cannot get enough of hearing it!

What other Viking / Heathen / Folk metal stuff has been damaging your eardrums as of late?

The new Korpiklaani got a few plays, it's not half bad, less hyper then their last few releases, but 5 albums in 5 years...they need to take a break. Svartsot isn't bad either. Alestorm...entertaining album.

I think I've been listening to more older stuff like Solefald and Negrua Bunget then anything, lately.

Negura Bunget is killer! I'd love to see them play at one of these Heathen Crusade fests! I've also been listening to a lot of Primordials latest and Trollfest as well. I need to check out Svartsot & Alestorm.

There have been some great folk metal releases in the last two to three years, the best IMO being the newest Arkona, Negura Bunget, Vintersorg, and Saltatio Mortis.

folk metal as a whole has really steppe dup in the past few years. The genre is growing, but like all genre's, we are going to have the bands who are doing it to latch on to a rise in popularity. Still though it is great to have so many bands to choose from rather than a small amount. I would never have imagined the PaganFest US tour ever happening.

I dont think I have a pure folk band, other than like finn/korp are there any? Dont care for that happy-fun-fun shit not my thing

I haven't really listened to the new Vintersorg a whole lot, I need to check it out again.

Another new band I've run across recently is Häive, from Finland. I've been listening to their first full-length album quite a bit lately.
