Has anyone purchased these before? What is the dinning with the bands Like - Do you think Saxon would be there? Is the front of barrier access basically front row? Any input would be appreciated!

I've never been a Thursday night VIP, so I'll let someone more knowledgeable speak to those specifics.

I can speak to the barrier access, and yes, it is the very front row. You will be able to touch the stage if you so desire. You will be literally only a few feet away from the band, mostly vertical space.

However, if you're a creeper, you will not be close enough to touch them unless they so desire said touching.

This will be the third year as a Thursday night VIP, so I can shed some light on this. (I'm also a multi-year Friday/Saturday sponsor.)

Basically, it's really cool to eat with the bands. It's a nice catered dinner. Obviously you have to respect them and be courteous and gracious. (In other words, don't be a jerk.) Strike up a conversation if they're sitting next to you.

As a rule of thumb, do NOT go into their dressing rooms unless you're invited. SwordLord (Nathan) will lay out the ground rules when you meet him.

It's rather crowded back there, so you may not get to sit with the bands. I sat with my friends this past year, but the next table over from us was DGM. I've been friends with them since SkiBumMSP and I sponsored them back in 2010. See the picture below to see how PromisedLand (Frank) and his wife Laura were talking to Marco Basile and Simone Mularoni.

As for "front of the barrier" access - yes, you have access all night. (This is different than how it is for Friday/Saturday since you only have access the first two songs of each band except for the one you sponsor where you stay the entire set.) You're up next to the stage, which is about shoulder height for me (I'm a rather short at 5' 5" tall).

As for if Saxon will be there - not sure if they'll be a the dinner for not. My guess is yes. It's up to them if they want to eat, but last year all the bands were there.

So welcome to the VIP club. Make sure you say hello to the other VIPs. :)

What!? So... I won't be able to finally realize my long-held dream of touching Biff Byford's shoe!?!? Truly, you have dashed all my hopes and dreams, sir!
