well, add one more pansy-ass metalcore band to my list of bands i like...

I like...one Shadows Fall song, and a bunch of Lamb of God riffs. LoG is probably my "favorite" of the listed bands, cause they apparently signed a contract that at least once per song they have to start thrashing like they're possessed by the spirit of 1989 Scott Ian. Sometimes they'll even do something like "Purified," which is full of good Anthrax and Kreator riffs and is fucking ccool stuff, but usually they'll throw in 20 seconds of contractually required riff madness and then go back to boring plodding hardcore.

Oh well.

For anyone who likes metalcore (which I do, along with most genres of metal), you should check out Byzantine, especially if you like Lamb Of God or Mastodon.

I love Lamb of God, the drumming is awesome, and they can definitely out-riff most American Metal bands I can think of.

As far metalcore or whatever goes, I don't really bother to do much categorisation beyond "Death" "Black" and "Thrash", so I know what I'm getting into. Decapitated, Opeth, Nevermore, Lamb of God, Shadows Fall...it's not really a big transition for me, they all appeal to me in similar and different ways, it's just good to my ears
