Not sure what it is you want to know about ZED but they obviously have a metal-archives page and I guess you could track down Kayt and ask her questions directly.

I like the gross sludge. There needs to be a strong current of disturbance and unease, I need to be disoriented. Primal and fucking menacing and fucking gross. Like a rapist leper, or a beautiful girl eating feces. The music, and the lyrics, need to speak of these things.

Neurosis is classic but I think Lord Mantis has taken over as the true spirit of sludge for me, even if they are technically a variant.

This has to be like the 3rd or 4th sludge thread we've had here. They never seem to last too long. Anyway, I personally love it, its one of my favorite styles of metal. That being said, the amount of derivative stuff has sort of put me off of actively seeking out new bands, not to mention the influx of "post" Neurosis/Isis influenced swill. These days, its mostly the classics which still get the job done.
