But I can speak Chinese in several dialects, does that count? They say the differences in differnt chinese dialects is almost as big as the difference between some european languages, such as portuguese and spanish.

I'd doubt it though. The fact that portuguese and spanish are somewhat mutually intelligible doesn't mean that the languages are THAT similar, there are blatant differences in structure, expression, etc.

But who knows
