What is Technicallity?

As far as bands go I'd define technically with bands like Arsis or Necrophagist.

Its having total control and virtuosity of the instrument to be able to make interesting and challenging pieces of music.

The new Arsis EP is probably one of the most technical pieces I've heard in a long time.

Technicality = rhythmic and songwriting diversity, bordering on showing off when implemented too much. Listen to Malignancy's 2003 EP for the best technical deathgrind to ever be released.

Uh having a different opinion isn't ignorant...

But I do agree, none of those bands are technical when compared to modern "technical" bands, especially those death metal bands with 5000 time signatures per songs. As was mentioned earlier, all metal is technical when compared to modern rock, pop, rap, and country (or whatever other bullshit there is these days), but that doesn't mean all bands should be labeled as technical.

Technical is topped off by the entire band. You know when a band plays a song as a whole and you're like JESUS. You're not just focused on one thing in the band because all musicians sound like they are in a competition of competence. Being unconventional is a major plus. Necrophagist is way to clinical where it comes off programmed taking away from it a lot.

Gorguts 'from wisdom to hate' and atheist 'unquestionable presence' are good examples off what i'm trying to explain being great, technical.
