Books. Books are as important as music for me.
A-men to that, though I also love video games. I like fantasy and sci-fi novels such as the Mithgarian series by Dennis L. McKiernan, the Dragonlance saga (mostly the ones written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman), and Margaret Weis's Star of the Guardians series.

In terms of video games, I love Japanese RPG's such as the Final Fantasy series, Chrono series and the Xenosaga series. I also love the Devil May Cry series (as evidenced by my Avatar), the MGS series, the Zone of the Enders series, and ESPN NHL Hockey (the Flyers will one day in the far future rule the NHL).

I'm an amateur photographer, I love to photograph, I bought an SLR camera after I did photo classes on college (I study Architecture), and it woke on me this love for photography! I also love to watch (and buy) DVDs (my last one was JACKASS - The Movie :D ), and I don't know... I love lots of things beyond music... I just couldn't describe 'em all in this right moment!

I'm a huge geek, so I actually get a kick out of web design.

I'm currently getting started on a new site, www.geocities.com/royaumedesilencieux.

But I don't know Javascript yet, and bought a huge big book on that to learn with (goes cross eyed).

I used to be big on books, but since having my son I haven't gotten alot of time for peace and quiet to read lately.

Oh yeah, I used to be really into books but I haven't been reading as often this past year. I remember I read Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind in two days during the summer... I love that book. I've got a huge list of books I've read and love and I hope to start reading more soon. Something other than college text books. :erk:

SilentRealm, one of my favorite writers is Australian. Have you heard of Sara Douglass? She's a little more recent, so you might not have if you haven't read much in the past two years or so.

I'm reading wizards first rule now! It's a badass book, but i don't have much time so i'm chisling away at it. Right now they are on the pass in the boundry and just went through the narrows and the grippers and shadow things were at their heals... fuckin' awesome writing.

Hey is that Wizard's Rule or whatever book a fantasy type thing? I've been kinda into that genre and Zach your description made me want to go read it, so I just might. I used to be big into mysteries, and I'm starting to get back into it with some cool mystery shows on TV...that stupid TV has been brainwashing me...but anyway, I really should read more if I'm gonna be a writer.

Oooooooohhhhh yeah. Definitely fantasy. It's a whole series, I think there are 7 books now, all averaging about 1000 pages. All of 'em are great. This is one of the few series' I can compare to The Wheel of Time and I like it almost as much. It's a little darker and more mature than Jordan, so it's... amazing. Jordan's books get a little darker as they progress, but Goodkind's get darker a lot quicker. But still filled with plenty of fantasy and humor. Definitely one of my five favorite writers.

My family and my dog and 7 cats are what I live for. I also have been into reading psychology and philosophy for many years, but anymore my time is spent doing what has to be done to get us along...like go to work, mow the yard, fix the house, etc.....wish I would enjoy these things, but I'm bored with them.
That didn't sound right.....OK..bored cause I would rather spend the time doing things with my wife and kids.

I am so going to check this stuff out. I can't write fantasy, but reading it just makes me feel all tingly inside...hehehehe :loco: By the way, I am currently reading Stephen King's The Eyes of the Dragon. The tone is a bit different from what he normally does, but I just love it.

Well besides music, I'm into great movies big time. Film is what I've always wanted to be a part of. I write, but eventually I'd like to write, edit, and direct. Horror has always been my favorite genre; but I like anything that is well written.

I adore good food, good beer, and being around LOTS of women.
I love the nightlife, in short.

I also enjoy reading. Horror, Fantasy, and Science Fiction definitely. I'm also into political commentary, philosophy, and psychology.
I'm a big fan of H.P Lovecraft, Ayn Rand, and Freud to name a few.
Right now I'm reading the new autobiography of/by Traci Lords.

Lol, I know what you mean. I'm to the point where I can almost successfully write fantasy, but nothing beats reading it.

I haven't read The Eyes of the Dragon (is that the one he wrote for his daughter?), but I just finished the fourth book in his Dark Tower series. He says this series will be his masterpiece, so I'm looking forward to the rest of it. So far it's really interesting but it's more, umm, western sci-fi than it is fantasy. o_O

no never heard of sarah douglass.

I havent read fantasy since i was a kid, as a teen i was into anything horror, and was a huge stephan king fan, then after that i got into detective stories, murder mysteries like kellerman (both john and faye). wouldnt mind try fantasy again from the way you guys talk about it.

i will have to start buying books because the library here is up to shit, cant find anything.

i have the h.p. lovecraft collection online but i need to get it all printed up..i cannot spend hours reading a story off a computer and be able to truly get into it..Also since the odyssey, ive wanted to read that story..prolly have to to buy it.

isnt Tracy Lords a porn star? Where can i get the book then lol
She's not a porn star anymore(well not a hardcore one anyway). But no, she's really done with that I think.

You can buy her book at Virgin, Borders, Amazon, places like that. She actually did some in-store book signings which I missed, unfortunately.;)
