Elements of stuff that they played in the old days?

Or perhaps brutal death metal... or mixed together...

OR MAYBE A COMPLETE DIFFERENT STYLE?

Opinions please.

I was really pleased with the style of The Gathering.
Dunno what they can do next really, the singing styles and all that are perfect on The Gathering.
Hopefully it will be another good dose of Testament with some new elements, then i'll be happy with it.

Something new. I don't want to simply put out another thrash record. I want the songs to be more dynamic, different tempo's etc.. The Gathering was great but it pretty much all sounded the same, so a change for the new album will be welcomed IMO.

I agree with Dirt on the ballad thing.

That would be fuckin' sweet

AND MUCHO solos! That was really something that dissapointed me on The Gathering... lack of solos.. I hope that the new one will be filled with it! and insanity drumwork and riffin'!

Another vote for a ballad, provided Chuck's voice didn't get too fucked up by the treatments to sing softly. I'm not saying it did; I honestly don't know. Has anyone heard him do a ballad since he started his therapy?

Oh, and make it fast. The album, that is. Lots of quick, thrashy stuff.

Fast, brutal, chunky heavy riffs, solos, cool intro's to some songs like The New Order album, and lots of double bass. A mixture between The Gathering and The New Order will do.

Id love another album like the gathering, but more complex guitar and riff arangments would also be welcome... hope it stays heavy but a Insturmental would kick ass 2

It would be awesome if they could mix old and new era even more than on Gathering.
Another Return To Serenity:ish ballad would be nice.
The acoustics from The New Order should definitely come back, thats one of the things that make that album so unique.
I would like the album to be as diverse as possible, with some Demonic:ish songs with death growls and brutal riffs and a couple slower ones, maybe one ballad and one acoustic instrumental.
Some usual awesome catchy Testament songs of course has to be included.

Ii wouldnt mind if they did something entireely different. just not a repeat of the gathering, i did not enjoy that album as much.

I think chucks voice is would go realy well with some black metalish style riffs with full blown thrashy leeds or whatever and maybe more synth or keyboard to build atmosphere around songs.

The evolution of testament and thier changing of musical styles or whatever u want to call it has always prooved to work. So i think no matter what they do it will work and the fans will accept it (i hope im saying the right thing). But please no repeats.
