What other GMDers influenced your music taste the most?

^You've been here a little more than a month and already your tastes have been influenced by four people. Wow.

no country for me as well. I was mostly into shitty prog and power metal when I joined this site. He had an excellent way with words and made me see the value in classic metal albums I thought were shit. I also found Irae Melanox going through his five-star ratings on RYM, which is the album that really got me into traditional metal.

Well not influenced as such, but they stand out as the ones I seem to have the most in common with. Both Slayed Necros and CIG responded to my post when I was looking for some post 2000 death metal and I've discovered some new stuff from that I didn't know about, etc. I also discovered Nest and Crimson Glory thanks to Funerary_Doom. I'm listening to more new stuff than ever before since I joined here. I can't keep up!

I'm actually not too sure. I did discover bands here but I don't think I was recommended stuff often. I usually browse stuff n see what people have been listening to and check it out. From the top of my head I can think of checking out @Krow @KafkaX and quite a few @CASSETTEISGOD since he started posting here.

Just came from a new era of GMD

Pretty sure that list would grow because then mix tape has me checking out and discovering lots of cool stuff too.

Throughout my years visiting these forums, id say that there have been quite a number of people. Some posters names I cant even remember it has been so long since they've posted. Id say basically any of the long term members here that have either posted stuff bands/albums that have become staples in my collection, or posted stuff in styles that I realized that I didnt really care for.

The most? Hard to say really. No country, crimsonfloyd, cythraul, dodens, onder, satanstonail, etc have all probably made posts that made me critically assess my taste in music beyond just posting cool stuff that I havent heard before.

No one that I can think of.

Will have come across the most new stuff through the black metal thread I guess but compared with people I know, Soulseek, last.fm and various blogs the influence is minimal.

This forum influenced my taste in the beginnings. 2006-2010 maybe. Now not so much.

Wrath of the Tyrant rules. They stop being really worthwhile on Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk but Emperor has some good music.

I dig Wrath of the Tyrant but am of the opinion that ITNE is their peak. After that there is a major drop in quality.

I've tried numerous times with Wrath of the Tyrant but I just don't get it. The prouduction is awful and the echo on the vocals is overbearing. I like plenty of black metal with raw production values but on Wrath I'm constantly straining to make the instruments out. The Emperor EP and In the Nightside Eclipse or all I listen to from Emperor.
