What type of JEEEOOOOORRRB do you have?

Going to Purdue University for Electrical Engineering Technology...aka electronics.

I remember you talking about that in another thread. My friend switched to EET there from Management and really enjoyed it there, but he transferred because all of his friends left and it was really boring. He's doing EET and Power Systems Technology at University of Cincinnati now.

why should I bother? I wont get through to you thickheaded piece of garbage.

its common knowledge that a my pals is a black person who blames whitey for his problem, engages in crime and refuses to get a real job, makes people feel bad for him cause he's black. it can also refer to a black person who is an asshole to anyone who isn't like him.

but yeah, forget it, I just wasted a minute of my life typing that to someone who will just give me a white liberal kneejerk reaction without thinking rationally.

Sorry to derail this thread further, Ozzman, but I just can't resist.

Ohiogrinder, you're talking about a racial slur. It represents a negative opinion of another race. How the hell does that have anything to do with rationality? If there's anyone who's not "thinking rationally", it's someone whose racial prejudice is so pathetic that he comes up with some pseudo-definition of a "my pals" just so he has an excuse to use the word.

Okay, I'm done (I hope).

Yeah, it's a great general degree I think. Electronics are everywhere so it shouldn't be too hard to find jobs anywhere in the US. I talked my best friend into going to school for it and he landed a job thats paying him $25/hr starting out and all kinds of other benefits. Pretty much all he does is work on surveillance equipment at random schools. So he's pretty happy I talked him into it as you can imagine, and I'm a bit jealous now.

But whatever, I'm pretty optimistic about this so we'll see what happens.

Yeah, I can do a lot of shit with my finance degree, but I want to go back to school and try something different, which is why law school might be the answer. One of my dad's colleagues has a son who works at the University of Pennsylvania and might write me a letter of recommendation to go to Wharton School of Business for an MBA, but we'll see if that even happens.

Law school seems pretty interesting (even though my business law class in school wasn't ) and there seems to be a demand for more lawyers now (irony?)

I'm a SAP/ABAP Programmer Consultant...

So, mainly I develop programs in ABAP language to run in SAP R/3...

I'm hoping to migrate in one of your nice rich countries soon... hehe...

:kickass:

My current occupation is as a lazy bum, but I'm majoring in computer science at college, so eventually I'll be doing some kind of programming work.

At the moment I'm applying for some generic tech support job at a company where an engineer friend of mine works. Should be pretty nice if I land that.

is it just me or do other people when they see the phrase racial slur think of melting racial minorities?

Yeah I don't blame you. I already know if I go back to school for anything after I finish this degree, it's not going to be for electronics or anything like that. Probably be for something that I actually thoroughly enjoy, not necessarily something I would have to depend on for employment. That being astronomy or something of the likes. Hell who knows, I could go to school for that and work on the Big Island of Hawaii using the largest telescopes in the world.

That would be racial slushy.

On topic: Currently I am a janitor making $12/hour for my summer job. I hate it but I need to make money during summer as opposed to sitting on my ass all day (though granted I do do that there, I just get paid for it). I go back to school full-time in a few weeks so it is all good.

Well, I really enjoyed finance in school. I think it's one of the most intriguing things ever. I really wish I applied more of it into work, but the company is so small and we're in such a niche market that it's impossible for me to do that unless my boss starts letting me do forecasting and stochastics.

I would really like to go back to school and get a degree in audio production because it would give me an excuse to grow my hair out. I don't want to go to school for another 4 years though, which is why law school is the next best thing. That and I don't have to be in a courtroom all day if I do something like Estate Planning or Taxation work.

I also wouldn't mind working at Sam Ash or something. I'd really like to work at a record store or something so I could get discounts when I buy all of my metuhl :headbang:

Programming is awesome dude... and it pays really well...

Actually, my first job was a Tech Support Specialist, so I do software/hardware troubleshooting, installations, computer upgrades/assembly, networking, etc... those kind of stuff for a year, then I transfered to another company where I'm positioned as programmer... Then, eventually I transfered again. ABAP programming still...

its racist because society has deemed it as such. if we take the connotations away from it, it is merely a word, albeit a very ridiculous word. I actually find the word 'my pals' to be rather phonetically comical. quit putting yourself on a pedestal.
