both are just medleys though....The jazz recording was especially fun, all (killer) musicians in one room, no overdubs etc.

I had the very same issue but my mind didn't go off like yours did.

lasse, when did you mix that and did you make a conscious decision to want to mix hip hop or did the job just pop up and you took it?

great. I think that's the right way to do it. of course one's got his forte but being open minded can never hurt.

I LOVE doing Jazz dates. 5 guys who've never heard the songs before, all set up live (bass in the iso) and fully track 6 songs in 5 hours, tighter than any other band I've worked with. They all bring in top notch gear with top notch playing, sight read it through once, take it down, and bam.

Then you go back to the metal world and take 4 hours just to record and edit drums for one song.
