What would you classify Melechesh as and who sounds similar?

For two months now I've been listening to Sphynx almost everyday (usually not the whole album though). I'm wondering what exactly you would classify them as? Are they just plain death metal or what? I guess the reason I'm wondering is because I want to find some other bands that are similar. It's melodic with lots of hooks but still pulverizing and powerful. Any suggestions?

try any magus noctum, another band with a middle eastern influence, but i much prefer them to melechesh.

give Rudra a try. Vedic death metal. pretty good stuff, especially the first two.
