IMO Emperor's star has kept growing ever paler after "Anthems". While "IX Equilibrium" retains most of the band's early aura - unlike the utterly disastrous "Prometheus", I cannot but speak of a let-down.

"falling snow" now makes sense to me in the context of the album

it's really the only "upbeat" or "rokkin'" track on asses against the groin; a lot of the rest is pretty much doom tempo'd
