As much as I would love to see them playing alive down here, be honest with yourself, deep in your heart you know they won't.
1 date cancelled on 2003 in Chile the very same day, I went, they didn't. Not their fault as I am well aware of what happened with the very awful organization.
2 dates cancelled in Argentina, again my dissapointment was huge.
There's something you need to know, there are NO Opeth fans in Argentina, or at least a very few, even not having their cd's on sell here (I think there are at least 2 places where I've seen Opeth cd's and not their entire catalogue, I asked for Lamentations and it's nearly impossible to find it) that makes it impossible to know how many people actually buy their cd's and even harder to make them come since no one wants to risk to put on a show where you ain't exactly sure of how many people are gonna come, and if they do, be sure their ticket will cost your ass. It's always about money.
Not blaming on them. They'd love to come, problem is no one wants to 'invite' them to come over for the reasons already stated.

No es sobre la capacidad del lugar, ni que ellos puedan cubrir el pasaje de vuelta a Suecia, pero lo que también discuto por sobre todas las cosas, es que no hay gente capaz de traerlos por miedo a quedarse en pelotas y no cubrir con los gastos esenciales del show. No hay gente interesada en traerlos, porque no pueden medir la cantidad de gente que pueda ir a un evento asi (lo mismo que escribí en Inglés)
Es lo mismo que pasa con Down ahora que sacaron nuevo disco (y está tremendo), te lo digo por que he hablado con productores que tienen el mismo problema para traer bandas que no son 'mainstream', por ponerle un nombre.
i can see your piont, but producers are being really stupid thinking like that because there are a lot of opeth fans here in buenos aires, and even more people that just like metal and they would go to any metal concert (hay q aprovechar cualqier oportunidad, si los unicos que vienen aca son el boludo de cheyene y todos esos giles!! jaja), which is a great way of making new fans.

I'd go to any concert if I wouldn't be working from 6.00 to 02.00am though, but that's another story.

You're welcome but actually it wasn't an answer, it's just that I feel that is going to happen anyway, we all hope to see Opeth that's the true, but seeing no one will ever be taking the chance of bring them annoys the hell outta me.

yeah.. they will eventually come down here.. maybe next year or maybe in the next 10 or so. Its like with Burzum i'm waiting for Varg's release next year and hoping he will come in somekind of viking boat to play at the cathedral here in buenos aires (previous arson of the mentioned cathedral)
