Melancholia
Eternal daydreamer
Miolo: Terminal spirit disease RUUUUUUUUUUULES!!! definitely this & Slaughter are the two best ATG!!!
(this smilie is horrible,btw )
okie,let's go for a quick ulver-class....
Lesson1:The essence of ulver is the constant (recently not so constant though) change of style....
Lesson2: Ulver non-metal albums,listenable by metalheads
After Bergatt they released "Kveldssanger",a very beautiful short in duration album. It's very acoustic and relaxing supersuitable for hours late at night (i'm listening to it right now).... The vocals are clean and very melodic...in some songs it feels like his voice is leading the whole thing....there is even one song where he sings A Capella, which is quite funny ( ),since the whole song is just garm singing "aaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaa" etc in various tones.... The music is mainly played by accoustic/classic guitars (i don't know exactly) and in some songs by strange flute-like organs.... It's quite a romantic album
After nattens madrigal ULver released the album that shocked many people, since nobody expected that a BM-orgie could be followed by sth that very little had to do with metal-if anything at all- and which somehow revealed their intention of taking more electronic paths.......
Soooooo,"Themes from William Blake's:The marriage of heaven and hell" to its biggest part electronic...Of course don't expect techno shit.No way. It's electronic music, quite listenable, not only because the music is quite varied, but especially because the whole thing is somehow covered by Garm's (phantastic) voice and also because there are some tracks which are very etherial and relaxing and also a part where a quite hard quitar makes its appearance...
Btw,in the last track there is a part where Samoth,Ishahn and Fenriz read some lines of the poem!!! I don't know i'm very hooked on this album...i would definitely give it 10/10,but then again it has technically nothing to do with metal and make you will find it uninteresting... Give it a try if you feel like experimenting...
If i recall correctly,Villain also like it a lot (cheers )
These 2 i consider the ones you should check after Bergtatt and Nattens... when i'll have a bit of more time i'll post a few thoughts about the dangerous Ulver albums...
Btw, i think in http://ulver.cjb.net you will find some ulver samples...
