Brazil is pretty metal, but I think it's either Norway, Sweden, or Finland.

Sweden probably produces the most metal bands, but I think that as a whole, Finland might be a bit more metal than Sweden (as far as a higher percentage of the population being metalheads).

But, I've never been to either country, so I'm curious as to what you guys think.

What is the most metal country in the world?

The Northernmost part of Sweden is pretty much metallized but I think Finland is the most metal of all countries. You can't go anywhere without bumping into a metalhead there :headbang:

Yeah, I'd say Germany. Cause they get a ton of gigs
and people go to them all. In general Germany is a
very musicoriented country, even though there are
people that listen to pop there as well )

Metal is quite underground here in Norway, but the
little environment that exists is pretty good!) And,
there is one guy... that has been to all the gigs I
have and every time he's been wearing an opeth
shirt. I can't remember if it was the same shirt or
not though... :eek:P

The problem with Norway is that no-one dares
booking any bands, so we don't get all too many
gigs. I'm sure if more bands played here the scene
would pick up some more fans )

Really?

That kind of surprises me. With all the AMAZING metal bands that have come out of Norway, I kind of thought it would be pretty huge over there.

Yeah, it's weird, innit? We have a huge amount of
great Norwegian bands, but they sign to German
companies and tour Europe without even thinking
about Norway! >:eek:P It sucks, but it's like this with
Sweden and Opeth as well. It's just this year that
Opeth will play a lot of dates in Sweden.

I have dream of starting a place where I'll book all
the big bands. But there's probably no money in it
so I'll lose everything! hehehe... >:eek:P

Greece is pretty damn metal. Blind Guardian got to No.1 over there! Finland always has metal bands in the charts too. I think Sweden is slightly exaggerated, since each metaller plays in about 10 bands so it just looks like there's a lot of fans :)

UK is the bottom of the list. Easy.

Wow. I always pictured EVERYONE in Norway being in a metal band. Sort of the same with Sweden (until I remembered Abba). You should start a metal club and book all the kick ass black metal bands from Norway. I'm sure it would do well.

LOL!!!! I'm sorry to crush your image like that! >:eek:P
Well, all the musicfreaks here usually play in a band
or five, but there are loads of people here that just
float about not finding music important. Just like any
other country I guess, except for the beautiful
nature that makes us the metalfreaks we are >:eek:P

And I have to agree with you Lee, not much of a
metal scene in England... :eek:/ Loads of goths though...

I always thought they had a decent metal scene in England (Cradle of Filth and Anathema). But, then again, this is the country that spawned "Top of the Pops" (ewwwww). At least they have good concerts in England, and you're somewhat close to the rest of Europe, where they have GREAT concerts (like Wacken Open Air - I want to go to that SO BAD).
