There was a band that was pretty popular in their day. They couldn't get along with their singer, so they replaced him with another one. With the second singer, they lost a lot of fans, but made a lot of new ones. For some publicity, they decided to do a few tunes and a tour with the first singer. Soon, they remembered that they got rid of the first guy for a reason. However, by then it was too late...the second singer said "Screw you, I'm not going to wait for you to jerk me around again." So the band hired a third singer, but by now, all their fans had deserted them. Finally, even their record label and was sick of the soap opera, and also dumped them.
