Yea, ugly game. I can't believe they used Santana AND Zambrano vs. DOM. They should have saved those arms for the teams they have a decent shot at beating.

Oh and USA 2 MEX 0. Rawk.

the Sox are looking damn good this season. Big Papi, a DIESEL Manny Ramirez, Coco Crisp in at center, pitching looks good, Theo's back.....its gonna be a good year Thana, i can feel it
 
Who knows now... with the shitty tournament structure, they can beat South Africa and still technically get eliminated. If Mexico beats Canada, three teams in the pool will be 2-1, but only two advance, so they go to their tie-breaker rules. Since USA beat Mexico, that should be the tie-breaker, so USA and CAN would advance, but they don't do it that way. They dig into stats like total runs scored, batting averages, etc to determine which 2-1 team is eliminated. So basically we could lose our spot to Mexico, even though we had the same record, AND beat them.

They need to work out a better system for next year, this one is totally backwards. Hopefully Canada just beats Mexico while we finish off South Africa. It would really suck for a team to get eliminated by a team THEY BEAT with the same record.

Agreed, and those rules are probably there because of time matters. The dind't want to make a 2months tournament. So for a 3 week tournament, they had to rely on this.
 
Well, it's official, Mexico advances.

Now after the stat-crunching tie-breaker shit with Mexico scoring 3 or more runs while defeating Canada, the picture has cleared up.

If USA beats South Africa tomorrow, they're in. If USA loses, they're out and Canada andvances with Mexico.

I think the Chinese invented the WBA structure.... just to fuck with the rest of the worlds minds. They couldn't have possibly made a simple procedure more complicated.
 
USA will DOMINATE South Africa

Im still pullin for the Dom Repub. Now with Vlad back on the team, theyre going to just blast everyone else out
 
I'm stickin with USA since I always pull for my home team, I'd put DR at number two though basically because they're loaded with players I like. Vlad and Papi for example.
