why are cymbal stands more expensive than actual cymbals

Dont cymbals wear out over time whereas stands are pretty much a one-time investment?

Cymbals also wear out if you don't know how to fix them on stands the correct way and there's a contact between different kinds of metal, so cymbals get oxidized. That's not a big surprise though.
As for the subject - my friend from states just bought stands that are 45 bucks. And decent cymbals start at $200.

i literally could not care less
i'm talking the us dollar equivalent of swedish money now:
any brand of stand is at least $60 and if you think "decent" cymbals start at $200 you have too much fucking money because i'm buying an 8" splash, 14" crash and 12" china all for less than $80 (stagg, or possibly wuhan)

I would imagine "good" cymbals are rather expensive. Three cymbals for $80 sounds a bit dodgy.
Are cymbals not hand-made? Hand-made shitz is always expensive. Unless it's made by slaves.

see the point is this
it's for rehearsal, and i'm a pretty violent drummer, and i am not in dream theater and do not care (actually i prefer it) if the cymbals sound a bit trashy, and if i ever record my playing it will be on either a 1988 model panasonic tape recorder or an early 90's tascam 4-track
sure if i was scrooge mcduck i would also buy 500 dollar zildjians but i'm not so i can't and also won't
but you're also touching upon my main point here: why can they sell a hand-made, crappy or not, cymbal for $30 but not a machine-manufactured rod of metal for less than $50?

Perhaps it has something to do with production costs. Is brass really cheap? If stands are aluminum (I dont know) then maybe that costs more to manufacture that steel or brass or whatever. Aren't the stands more complex than cymbals?

In my experience most cymbals less than $80-100 sound like complete garbage. You will always have exceptions to the rule, but generally you get what you pay for.

i think staggs are generally considered to be good for the price, they don't have the finish of more expensive cymbals so they sound a bit more NECRO, but at least they're made of b20 bronze and not brass, unlike SOLAR and stupid beginner's brands like that
i've looked around on some drummer forums and the general consensus seems to be that at least the fx cymbals (china, splash) are very worth the low price for having around as beater cymbals
Yea I would agree with that for the most part. I used to have a really cheap wuhan mini china that I loved the sound of. Also, with alot of the cheaper cymbals I had when first starting out, I ended up brutally destroying them pretty quickly. Although in general I have a tendency to beat the hell out of my cymbals and drums.
