Blind Gaurdian repeats riffs, just like alot of metal bands. Even Prog rock will have a Chorus and Verse with the same or simliar Riff with different Vocals over it.

I'm pointing out all the things you said you hate about pop can be said about every genre.

dude the hook is always going to repeat.. all music is this way.. but pop music is just so much more repatative. Just because one riff is repeated once or twice doesent means it is repatative.. For a song to be repatative it has to be repeated several times throughout the whole song.

Wtf, you actually made a good point, i have to agree on this one.

again, like most metal. Like it or not, singing about Trolls, Dragons and Vikings is pretty fucking corny, and not the most original thing ever. The majority of Metal songs are a riff repeated thoughout a song. Example..Ensiferum's Iron: The intro is the same as the Verse, only the drums change. The Verse Riff is always the same. The Bridge and the Riff under the Solo are the only 2 things different.

Everything you siad there can be used in every genre of music.

If you don't like repatition listen to Jazz and Classical.

Also, it's not really about the "repetitive-ness", but pop music is very easy to expect what's gonna happen next, the songs are always built up in the same way, and you know the melody even before you've finished hearing it. That happens to some metal aswell, but it's far more common on pop in my experience.

Pop music is terrible.. its old and unoriginal repatative and the lyrics are corny as hell... Every pop song has been done in a way or another before.. there is nothing interesting about it... Its been so OVERDONE they have come out with this new genre of POP where the chick is like fucking rapping or something or just talking not even singing its just horrifying... fergie gwen stefani bullshit...

Because in Pop culture, with mediatisation we are kinda "forced" to listen to a song, or a band many times before it change so it become easy to "hate" it. And, if you think of it, most "other genre" culture please them to hate "pop" culture cause it represetent the majority of a society and they act in the way to hate the society, so they need to hate pop music.
