I enjoy many genres of music, but none moreso than metal. Ultimately, I feel that metal captures the essence of the human condition far better than any other genre of music. Every emotion is represented in metal - some more than others, of course - but due to it's intentional lack of 'mainstreamism', it tends to tread the ground that others are too fearful to. And no stone is left unturned.

Again, it encompasses life more than other genres, as I see it.

TBH I've never tried that? Silly reason to like metal though - I'd imagine some hard gabber techno would be far more enjoyable in those situations.

There is definitely a huge energy factor. For myself, depending on my mood, I will listen to or play a certain type of music .. metal usually comes in when I'm really tired and need to pick up, or I'm in a good mood and I want to get higher!
