Why does Mikael keep saying GR isn't a concept?

Almost all of the songs fit together easily, and the ones that don't only take a little imagination to work in. It's not like when people try to pry a story out of BWP; there's consistency here that jumps out at me. I love the story the lyrics suggest, so now and then I pretend it is one when I listen to it.

Title edited because of fags and my bad wording and for clarity even though the main title can't be edited, but I guess you can't win them all.

I read in an interview in a french magazine that the album was originally meant to be a complete concept album with all the songs related to each other by the story, but while writing the lyrics things did not go as planned and only three songs are part of the concept. The other songs talk about various stuff. He does not mention which songs though.

wow, i cant imagine how sad AND ignorant id have to be to pretend ghost reveries is a concept album simply to make it listenable.

its their best record to date. with or without lyrics...get used to it.

Where did I say I didn't like it? It's just kinda neat to think of the suggested story when I listen to it.

it is a piece of art and each individual interprets art differently that is why art is so amazing so theres really no point in arguing about whether its a concept cd or not.....what we should be arguing about is whether Mikael is human or not

if Mike says its not a full concept..then it isn't. and that's what he said. RESPECT THE FACTS BITCH.

I thought it was a concept album because the songs seem linked
there is a mentioning of "Beneath..." in " Baying..." and there is mentioning of "Baying..." in "Reverie/Harlequin..."

without any connection to whether GR is concept album or not,It's Still very listanble and exelently produced.
Is it me or can you smell Steven Wilson a mile away in "Ghost of perdition"?

I think Opeth managed even better without Steve... And the production being influenced by the experience they had with him? SO WHAT? It's even better that way me thinks...

I love how all of you know more about the album than the guy that wrote it.

Actually that is the beauty of music. You take from it what you want. Mikael may have written a song about a certain thing, but you perceive it to be about another. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's called imagination. You guys are real quick to jump on people about wether or not you think their opinions suck. It's quite comicalat times, actually cracks me up. But at other times it gets lame.
