haha, uhhh. it is hated by many, and personally, there are some sweet riffs on there, but..i'd take gateways over it in a heartbeat. i like gateways a lot.

so my opinion on heretic is prob 6 outta 10. and you, my friend?

I dont like Gateways much, but for some weird reason, Heretic for me is almost as good as Altars, making it my second favorite in their discography. Sounds strange.

deftones are great. they are quite different from an average nu-metal band. they ahve some very atmospheric stuff. check out their "white pony" album and esp. tracks like "digital bath" and "knife prty" (yes thats how the name is spelled )

I agree-I've been a fan forever.For mine,they're far too diverse and creative to be simply labelled nu metal.
