Has anyone else noticed this is pretty much ProTools powermetal with "blackish" vocals? Seriously, aside from the vocals, this is pure cheesy powermetal, from the clicky overproduced drums to the way-too-inyourface keyboards. Ugh.

There are dozens of Viking metal acts that own their asses, but they're still cool...better than Ensiferum (who I also enjoy to an extent) by far...

agreed. typically I hate this crap, but Wintersun is great.

sure the production is totally over-the-top, and there's a TON of guitar wankery, but the songwriting itself is great. catchy tunes with some great melodies and awesome solos. top-shelf musicianship.

What on earth...? Wintersun better than Ensiferum? Wintersun good? Do my eyes deceive me? That album is 6/10 material guys, suck it up.

"Token of Time" and "Old Man" are all the evidence you need to learn the ways of Ensiferum.
