Xtian Death Metal?????????

Many, if not all, of the members, however, are Christian if I'm not mistaken.

Like the Prince of Fucking Darkness and Dio?

i used to be an extreme christian, but now im atheist, i used to be big into christian metal, here are some:
vomitorial corpulence (grindcore, not all that great)
crimson thorn (death metal, pretty good, pretty brutal)
vaakevandring (viking metal amazing band, not sure about the spelling)
crimson moonlight (BM nothing too extrodinary)
acoustic torment (MDM great from what i heard, highly reccomended)
Horde (BM at its worst)
Soul embraced (DM from what i have heard an excellent band)
Extol (BM excellent band)
mortal treason (MDM excellent band, the seem slighty metalcore though)
immortal souls (BM pretty good band)
mortification (DM probably the most popular christian death metal band, some songs are good, others are terrible)
becoming the archetype (DM pretty good from what i heard)
Frost like ashes (BM the guitarist introduced me to them, excellent band, especially off the tophet album)
megilloth (DM i found them on myspace, excellent band)
king's X (never listened to them)
slechtvalk (BM highly reccomended)

im not even going into christian bands like demon hunter, haste the day, as i lay dying, norma jean, still remains, symphony in Peril, as cities burn etc.

other more popular christian bands are, fireball ministry (i think) & dream theater

i read somewhere mercenary was a christian band under the name avenna or ayenna, something like that, it could be a different band though

early graveworm seemed christian such as the song "Awake"

christian power metal bands are whitecross, stryper

there are a lot of christian rock bands like chevelle, skillet, POD... too many to name

i was told somewhere pain of salvation was a christian band but i dont think they are

i hope you guys check some of these bands out before saying all christian metal sucks, because i am atheist and was raised as a strong christian and still find myself listening to extol, acoustic torment, slechtvalk, and handful of others.

King's X is considered Christian?

Oh well, it's pretty fucking good regardless..

The band was never meant to be a "Christian band", but the members have all had some level of belief in Christianity. They are just a rock and roll band, pure and simple. Some of them played with other early Christian rock artists. The bass player, Doug Pinnick, has talked a lot about how Christianity has left him unhappy and disappointed. He came out as being homosexual a couple of years ago, and that coupled with things from his past seem to have been part of that disappointment or whatever. You can hear their faith in their lyrics here and there, as well as Doug's struggles and stuff.

They are amazing. At least on their first 6 albums there is only one song I am slightly annoyed by.

Betrayal - Renaissance By Death (1991)
Sacrament - Haunts of Violence (1992)
The Crucified - Self Titled (1989)

These are more thrash, but all are excellent IMO. The Crucified are punk/thrash. You could say crossover, but I think they weren't much like DRI.

Just when you thought the everyday hassles of religion being shoved down your throat from every angle were bad enough, now comes Xtian death metal. Well, I shouldnt say it as if its new, I guess its been around awhile now but I'm just finding out more about it. I dont set out to "hate" religious people, but the ones that push it, or start a Death Metal band with Xtian overtones are just pathetic attempts to wiggle into the metal world and "save some souls".
This dude my cousin knows is pushing it on him pretty hard. Telling him its better than "satanic and violent" metal. He even talks of how this IS IN FACT their way of reaching "the hapless souls" of the metal world.
You gotta really watch some of these new metal bands coming out, read the lyrics, many of them are Xtian oriented. Poisoning.
Now, if your Xtian and this dont bother you than good, great, wondeful, but I wont support it. Keep your god out of metal. done.

You do know that all the guys in Possessed were catholic except Larry(thanks Sound Of The Beast, the book.) There are count;ess bands with Christian members(SLAYER! IN YOUR SIG!) I suggest you shut your mouth.

Christian Death Metal should repulse me. But just like other forms of Metal there's good and bad stuff. I do think it's amusing that they try to spread the word of God through 'satanic' music though.

Now Christian Gore Grind. That's a very strange sensation listening to that. But at least I can give them credit for being creative, even if no-one is ever actually going to realise they aren't singing about raping limbless corpses.

Please point me in the direction of the Christian goregrind band you speak of.

I just heard Impending Doom the other day...for some reason I didn't immediately notice they were Christian from the title of the album (Nailed. Dead. Risen.)...it was pretty good but just don't read the lyrics unless you want a laugh.
