Your 10 Favorite Albums

really, really tough.

in no order:

Pearl Jam - Ten
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Slayer - Reign In Blood
Queen - Greatest Hits
Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Type O Negative - October Rust
Led Zeppelin - III
Opeth - BWP
The Doors - Best of the Doors

There are probably some ive missed but i dont have my entire music collection in front of me. Public Enemy - Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back, missed out in that top ten, as did; massive attack - blue lines / mezzanine, the cure - disintegration, sasha - airdrawndagger, goldie - timeless, and the other zeppelin classics

My list of current favourites, in no particular order would have to be something like this:

Borknagar - Origin
Empyrium - Weiland
Opeth - Still Life
Opeth - Ghost Reveries
Opeth - Damnation
Nightingale - Alive Again: The Breathing Shadow Pt. 4
Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness
Porcupine Tree - The Sky Moves Sideways
Enslaved - Below the Lights (totally addicted to Havenless ATM)
Gojira - From Mars to Sirius

A top 10 all time would be exceedingly more difficult.

hmmm tough. off the top of the head of course:

porcupine tree - in absentia
isis - oceanic
katatonia - the great cold distance
vast - visual audio sensory theater
opeth - damnation
nick drake - bryter later
savage garden - affirmation
katatonia - viva emptiness
sting - brand new day
anathema - judgement

wow i might have to go listen to some of them now.

i like it cause its got this floyd vibe to it, and also because its very different from all the other albums they have put out. prob the most "spacey" album ive ever heard, its so beautiful and the production is simply amazing

^Pitiless, Make it right, One last goodbye, Forgotten hopes and Don't look too far are one of the most beautifully sad tracks ever, that album is just incredible. Anathema is a very, very important band.

I could agree w/ all the songs you just listed.
One last goodbye is just perfect(beautifully sad sums it up well) and is THE song that got me into anathema exclusively.
When cavanaugh sings "there's no lament for you tonight" on DEEP(1st track)
it literally will give you chills. If you dont feel it, you dont have a pulse as far as im concerned. I usually dont kiss any bands ass this much, but this album should be heard.

I know RIVERSIDE has been mentioned here before but if you like anathema...
just do yourself a favor and download "conceiving you" and "loose heart", and then go out and buy both albums.
Those 2 songs carry the same torch (beautifully constructed) as anathema.
Would like to hear others thoughts on these two bands

fair nuff'
some people say they rip off porcupine tree but i dont see it
so how bout porcupine can we all agree that they are legendary at this point?

Anathema varies between complete borefest and total snorefest !

Incredible band live, you won't need sleeping pills when you come home...

This band smells enthousiasm in its core !
