Thanks mate. I'll do my best to build up a rudimentary understanding of photography so I can pull it off.
More excited about the potential videos though. May have to dust off some video editing software and learn how to go at it again.

It sounds amazing! The dynamics and response, so much like a tube amp... and the speaker breakup feature is killer! Even on high gain tones just roll off the volume and it's CLEAN.
Loving it so far for classic rock/metal clean, crunch and lead tones. I don't expect it to do djent and honestly I don't even want it to... for all the modern metal stuff my Pod Farm 2 does a great job.
I think you can still find it on eBay, the seller had a few to sell. Demo it and I guarantee you'll buy it within 10 minutes

Killer camera. I've had one for a couple months now (it's known as the T2i in the US).
The video looks great, although getting past the quirks of using a DSL for video takes a bit of getting used to. For tutorials and stationary uses, it'll be great.

Because I fucking hate that the Preamps of my FP-10 (which I use solely as a 8xMic Preamp) are on the front
Plus I always wanted a phase, lowcut and phantompower switch per channel. And I can use it with the Fireface's A/D section (for now), because it has analog outputs and if I get more analogue preamps I can connect the Octamic via ADAT and have 6 ok-quality A/D channels on the FF. And I got it used for a very nice price. Not so useless after all, I guess.
I was tempted by the Mackie Onyx 800r and the Audient ASP 008 (with AD) as they're said to have better preamps.. But they have no fucking analog TRS outputs and I want those. Plus they're fucking expensive and I like the RME pres.
Can you do a comparison of the RME and and FP-10 preamps? It would be so great....I've got 2x Fp10 and thinking about switiching to M-Audio or stuff like this.

vocalign is awesome!! ive used it loads of times, but still haven't taken the plunge on buying it!
it really is an awesome bit of software, ive also used it to sync a clean guitar and bass track before!

Got the DBX 160 sitting next to me too, in bubble wrap. I'll take it to the tech to sort out the power re-winding/wiring this week.
