Well when you're trying to match one identical dub to another, 'too tight' probably isn't applicable. The differences in pronunciation and such amount to the slight nuances that will make it sound extra textured/larger. Having consonants kick in at different times just makes the vocal sound smeary.

I'm still waiting on Tony for the license though... I'll try it out shortly.

Mean time I'm trying to work out whether to use Autotune or Melodyne. AT shits me up the wall, but I figure it has to be the industry standard for some reason.... though im starting to think because it was the first, and only that.

Anyway, why are you guys talking about a damn vocal alignment plug-in. I just bought a freakin' Distressor!! whoo.
 
Lol, I only found the plug in interesting because I usually try to get the tightness out of the takes to begin with, so wandered if it was a big difference.
I shall test it then go from there.
