That Reek album really took me by surprise. It's like Hatchet's Dawn of the End in a lot of ways.

That Reek album really took me by surprise. It's like Hatchet's Dawn of the End in a lot of ways.

Listening to it again, this is a fair comparison only up to the 2nd track or so. There's a lot of variety in Reek's effort, while Hatchet's is mostly pure thrash. I'd call Reek progressive thrash if you take the album as a whole. Vocally they are pretty similar.

Sorry to keep going on about the Reek album. But damn. This album is incredible. It probably deserves Album of 2014 from somewhere, it's too bad it gets such little recognition. Album just gets better as it goes on, becomes more progressive and creative.
