Xiu Xiu are goth/pop right? I've been meaning to check them out for some time now. Mind sending me in the right direction as for an album to look out for?

They're noise/pop, kinda influenced by Joy Division and stuff like that, but most of the instruments are electronic shitz and they bring an unprecedented amount of vocal angst to the table. All their albums are somewhat different, but I'd say probably the best one to get a general idea of what they're about is Fabulous Muscles.

It's also worth checking out the pre-Xiu Xiu project of Jamie Stewart, Ten In the Swear Jar, which is pretty much Xiu Xiu (they even have some of the same songs) but less abrasive and without the freeform filler that Xiu Xiu have on some of their albums.

Deathspell Omega (for SMRC only; earlier stuff is generic, Kenose sounds like a sellout to the "avantgarde" crowd who all hopped on SMRC for some reason)

Eucharist (first album ONLY, Mirrorworlds is cheesy trendshit)

Emperor (first album + split with Enslaved ONLY)

Beherit (for Drawing Down the Moon of course, Oath of Black Blood is just meh)

no.....burzum, deathspell omega, drudkh, alcest....probably some other shit too are REALLY up there for me (especially burzum) but not QUITE top 10....tbh a lot of these are really interchangable though...i should probably take out the elected and saturday looks good to me and replace them with something else
