I did not compare them, I was merely saying that the bands I included should not be in that list.

While the early DSO isn't the most original it is quite good.

I don't understand in what sense you use the word sellout to describe Kenose. I think they were being pulled in that direction, but chose not to include such material on SMRC for continuity's sake. It sounds as if Diabolus Absconditus may have even been written before SMRC, as the production and drumming are significantly worse (although this could be due to someone different playing, I don't know) than Mass Grave Aesthetics and Kenose. Besides, Kenose was released within a relatively short time of SMRC. I think it's unreasonable to think that people's reaction to SMRC had any effect on Kenose, especially because I don't recall the hype over SMRC occuring immediately upon its release.
