Good call on Dark City - love that movie. Another one I thought of that fits in that intelligent sci-fi thriller category that I really enjoy so much is Inception.

If you loved Inception, you have to see The Thirteenth Floor, as I said before it´s like some kind of a prototype idea to Inception movie, not the same quality but I think it is an awesome movie in his way.

City of God is so goooood. Latin American films in general are some of my favorites. La Noche de los Lapices about the Argentine junta of '76-'82 is horrifying but an amazing film.
