2 ORPHEUS songs online - (Ermz/ Plec)

Not a fan of the mix tbh. Also like how Jeff had to mention himself that he did the drum editing on the album.

Fair enough if you don't like the mix dude :) not everyone will!
Also... Jeff was mentioned in NUMEROUS posts about the album prior to this one, and as this is the one with a finished mix/ master... my first mention was Ermz and Plec! Just for reference sake ;) And if you buy the album, you'll likely see Jeff in the credits too :)

Well done both of you! Everything sounds good and polished. \m/

I especially like some of the lead tones. What pickup if I may ask?

Jackson sls3 -> Seymour blackouts -> Mark Iv that's on UNSCATHED
On WINDS OF CHANGE first solo is ESP ESA Holopainen -> emg 85 -> mark Iv
Then RR1 rhoads -> Jb -> mark Iv

There's a fair few changes between those 2 songs. The rest of the Album is the SLS3 combo though

bravo Ermin.... now, i will pull the songs back up and relish in their analogue glory. i always know when im hearing it because it KEEPS ME LISTENINGGGGG orrrr purely enjoying it in a more 'playing in the background' manner...

Forgot to respond to this, but that's it man! I knew you of all people would get it!

this sounds so fucking good, especially the drums,
i wish i had some samplkesof these
like the music too.

You probably want to listen to a lil song called 'Sealed in Fate' then... probably still won't get all the room/sustain in the sounds though, haha.

I could start nit-picking on details I'm not so fond of (like said many times, the guitar tone doesn't quite feel right for the music), but overall this sounds very balanced and most of all a memorable production, which is the single most important thing in my opinion. Very good job, Ermz, Plec, Orpheus and everyone who contributed to this. Sounds like it will be a very potential and solid album. I love the radiorock-ish vibe, it fits here fucking perfectly!

The only complaint I have considering the over-all sound is the same as some people already pointed out: it's a tad bit too squashed and dense for my liking. A bit more air, I feel, would have contributed to the music in a positive way. But that's just a personal preference, so never mind it :)

Oh come on Ermz... what's that saying??? A good mix will shine through anything? or is that a good song??

Jarkko: Cheers dude, I understand your point entirely. Again, the only let down in my eyes is that the guitars came out in such a way that 95% of it was sadly an uphill battle it seemed. I really wish we captured the tone we got that day, cleanly and effectively, but it wasn't to be.

I don't know about the squashed and dense bit though :S I haven't had any issue discerning anything, so I'm not sure what is meant by that, but hey XD

I kinda dig the mix but not at the same time. It's just a little too squashed, as Gareth said. Not so much the whole song, but the guitar+synth combo is really flatlined and takes up the entire spectrum. Some more dynamics in the synths, coming and going, would have been better IMO. And the snare pokes out a little too much, while the kick sits back a lot (very rocky). But.. it kinda works. Love the bass sound.

Not sure what you could mean about the dynamic gutters and keys to be honest.guitars were processed to fuck so they'd fit, and synths. What did you mean?

It's all just a bit white-noisy, if that makes sense. Perhaps not more dynamic synths/guitars but cleaner ones with better defined notes (easier said than done with guitars, but with synths it's achievable).

This isn't the sort of music I normally listen to, but having given it a chance i'm pretty happy with it. Sounds pretty damn awesome and very well written, I noticed your playing the East Brunswick Club next week which is up the road from my house so I'll see how many people I can bring along and see you guys in action.

Top notch effort!
