Don't know if these have been discussed yet, but decent tours for late winter/spring 2005 thus far.

Amorphis / Into Eternity / Beyond the Embrace (this sounds AWESOME, can't wait for it - NYC peeps, BB Kings is in February sometime)

Dark Tranquillity / Soilwork / Hypocrisy / someone else (Dark Tranq headlining? sign me up, plus I can get drunk & harrass Soilwork during their set, and finally get a chance to see Hypocrisy live)

Anything else? Thoughts on these? Except for J, we already know he thinks both tours suck.

I'd actually like to see DT and especially Hypocrisy.

And if Amorphis stuck with pre-Tuonela material, that would rock.

But yeah, don't care about the others.

Dark Tranquillity - April 30th - 30 minutes away from my house. Dark Tranquillity in fucking Connecticut. 'nuff said.

I think they don't play ANYTHING pre-Tuonela anymore. I'd be surprised if there's even more than about 2 songs from Tuonela.
That's a shame, since it's their best material. I really wouldn't mind a bunc of songs from Tuonela, but Am Universum was just dreadful.

We've had a shitload of big bands come through here recently, whoever books the bands for our major venue has sure got their act together over the last few months. I'm absolutely ecstatic about this, it's a fucking dream come true. I want all my friends to see it and understand true Heavy Metal :headbang:

I'll go to the Hypocrisy show and then leave before Soilwork and/or Dark Tranquillity hit the stage. :tickled:

It would be cool to see Amorphis, and seeing Into Eternity for a third time (albeit 3 members different or lost since the last time I saw them) again.

The new Dark Tranquility album is SO cool, but those keyboards need to go. Somebody should just go backstage and unplug the KORG.
Yeah, and then steal the Character master tapes^Whard drive, delete the synth tracks and release that version of the album on the Internet :p

Keep in mind that the new vocalist for Amorphis hasn't been announced, so there is a possibility that the setlist (and possibly their overall direction) could change significantly...a remote one, but the show is still a definite for me.
Why? It's not that Pasi COULDN'T growl, he just wouldn't, because Amorphis are sold out trendwhores now.

So true. I've been in Finland twice, and I saw them each time. Sadly, I should've been there earlier, because they didn't play ONE Karelian Ishtmus song, which is in my opinion their easily best album.

Damn, I'll go to both of those. I only like Morbid Angel and Nile, but I'd stick around for those other bands just fer zee hell uov eeit.
